Artouste AAPU Refurbishment

Below you will see some pictures charting the progress of the refurbishment of
one of four Artouste 113 engines which were performed simultaneously a good few
years ago. I have refurbished over 30 Paloustes and Artoustes over the years.
I have the tooling and spares to perform full overhauls if and when required.
They are very straight forward engines to do.

This is how they usually arrive. Pretty rough really, although they can get much
better and also much much worse. The main thing with ones like this is that no
one has messed with them before hand so you can be fairly sure that what you
can see is what you will get

The first thing that gets done is to strip off all of the niff naff, borescope it and flush the oil tanks, then the oil is changed and the engine is rigged up for a basic functional and performance test.

You can see the correct electrical metered orifice installed in these pictures for applying a load apply a
load to the engine

The test determines what needs to be done. With these engines the performance
was excellent and after some tweeks they came within limits.

So all that was then required was a refurbishment without breaking into the gas path and a final
functional and load test post refurb
