This
engine was purchased along with the propeller hub and several
spare
bits and pieces. The intention was to get it operational
with a propeller
installed. However unfortunately finding the correct parts
such as the prop
shaft proved very time consuming despite being able to visit
some wide
and unusual sources that actually operate the engine. (the
engine must have
its prop shaft or a complicated test adaptor installed as
there are several seals
on it and internal galleries for lubrication of the front
gearbox brg and
actuation of the prop pitch change ram, a splined adaptor
and the front
gearbox bearing itself) Digging around for all of this took
weeks and weeks
and ultimately proved beyond my patience level and available
schedule at the
time so after a great deal of mulling I let it go. It eventually
found its way onto
a wing and to my great pleasure I have since seen it run
installed with a prop
fitted. The engine systems looked a lot more complicated
than they were.
It was all quite straight forward, just different in places
that's all.
